Homographs - Wound
(theme)
Bernard Modern Std
(typeface)
wound (to encircle), wound (to injure), wound (in a state of tension)
Wound is an example of a homograph, which is a word that has multiple definitions. I specifically chose "wound" because of its contradicting connotations. For example, wound, the past tense of wind-up, seems friendly and smooth. On the other hand, wound as in injury seems violent and hurtful. Lastly, wound, as in tension, seems edgy and agitated.
